Brenda's French Soul Food

I thought Brenda's French Soul Food was pretty unique! I've never really had "French Soul Food," so I figured I should give this a try. The equation goes like "French + Southern Soul Food = Brenda's French Soul Food". And it's good!

Definitely try everything on the menu that catches your eyes! I just had to try the beef with eggs and grits and biscuit. It was pretty good! My favorite is the pecan butter toast! Totally worth trying! And the cafe is really nice and cozy too!

I hear the lines can get pretty long during rush hours! So go there on a nonbusy time of the day!

Burma Superstar

I know what you're thinking (...that is what you are). but the dishes are stellar! and i have selected these two as a starting point on your next visit. Amy says they food is great, but feels it is slightly overpriced for what it is. I agree, but nevertheless the food is still worth trying out.
The Rainbow Salad

The waiter claims that it has a gazillion ingredients, and will name each one. You'll forget what he or she says after taking the first bite! I don't normally eat salad, but I will eat this one anytime!

The samosas are really good! Lots of meat and potato and other stuffing, so don't eat too much of it or else you'll be too full for the main course.

Art's Cafe

Located on 9th and Irving, next to Jamba Juice, this small diner is easy to miss. but once you try their food, you'll never forget about it's location again.

Try:
1) Bibimbop - compared to the average Korean Restaurant, this bibimbop is way tastier, cooked to perfection in front of you, way more vegetables and MEAT, and way cheaper as well! hot sauce available right at your fingertips!

2) Hash brown sandwich - you'll never find anything quite like it! it's just what the name says. instead of bread, it's hash brown! you can have it with teriyaki beef/chicken, or mushrooms, bell peppers, etc.
